Previously denied by Israel and its supporters, Israel has confirmed it is holding a Gaza engineer allegedly kidnapped in the Ukraine and his lawyer, Smadar Ben-Natan, told the German Press Agency dpa that she intends appealing his case with international bodies. Lawyer Ben-Natan told Israel Army Radio Monday that her client had no connection with Hamas.

Ahem. Hamas illegally raided the Israeli border for the express purpose of kidnapping IDF soldiers. A few people died as a result of their kidnapping of Shalit. No battlefield. Unprovoked, cross border raid by Hamas. Look it up.

Shalit was a soldier while Israel kidnaps civilians, Are you really going to try and compare the two and use it as justification to why Israel can commit human rights abuses?

I'm waiting for a response.

Appears a well-executed operation. Ukraine security forces deserve credit as well.

Shalit remains held in horrid conditions, and may he remain there until Israel is serious about peace!

I say the guy was fair game if works for Hamas. Hamas kidnaps people all the time and hold them illeaglly. This guy has a lawery and can make phone calls. Hamas takes people and no one every hears from them again.
